It Has Arrived
I have tried many times to gather the scattered thoughts in my mind and shape them into a book.
The process was a mixture of struggle and joy, and what remained in the end was a genuine sense of creating something out of nothing.
Does the process matter? Of course it does.
Yet when we look back at the completion of the whole endeavor, the most critical moment is not the process itself, but the beginning—the moment one steps into the world of inspiration.
An oral defense is the gate to a degree;
an interview is the threshold to employment;
a presentation is the decisive moment in securing a contract.
When preparation is sufficient, anxiety loses its grip.
When success and failure are set aside, sleep and appetite are no longer disturbed.
Those with a strong sense of responsibility find it hard not to feel nervous.
Those lacking confidence struggle just the same.
But that moment will come regardless, and so will the decisive outcome.
Whenever I see a piano or violin soloist perform without looking at the score, I cannot help but think of the countless hours of practice behind it.
Perhaps they still need to adjust their emotions before stepping on stage, but that is not nervousness.
It is composure—the calm of knowing that the moment has arrived.
What are you presenting: the real skill you have accumulated, or a last-minute act of memorization?
I have experienced performances that were hollow and unrealistic, and through them I came to understand that life itself is a discipline that demands continuous refinement.
From promoting fasting education to wholeheartedly accepting the title “fasting coach,” I have invested an amount of time in preparation, teaching, and writing at the keyboard that even I find hard to believe.
Can a coach choose students? Of course.
But when it comes to learning fasting, there is no such thing as talent—only willingness.
There is no hierarchy of levels, only the strength of one’s motivation.
We can all share the benefits of fasting with family and friends, yet I do not encourage aggressive persuasion.
The other person may have no intention at all—perhaps not even the motivation to try.
Everyone carries their own blueprint for life, and everyone measures time differently.
As I observe the students in fasting classes, I see that those who are willing to interpret the class as an opportunity are the ones who stay and continue to refine themselves with the group.
The decision to make the body healthier and cleaner does not require preparation—only willingness.
This is not an interview, nor a presentation.
It is simply the clear recognition that change is necessary.
Perhaps this is a major turning point in life, the entrance to an entirely different way of living.
When faced with the invitation to become healthier, some step forward immediately, while others retreat on the spot.
Some say they learned such important information too late.
Others say they still want a few more years to indulge in good food.
The latter remain focused on immediate pleasure; the former are fixated on what the body has already accumulated.
The same information came to me twenty years ago.
Unexpectedly, it transformed my body—and just as unexpectedly, it bound me to the role of becoming a guide along other people’s life paths.
What does a fasting coach really teach?
Rather than fasting, it is more accurate to say: life education.
Are you not ready yet?
And yet—it has arrived.
The message reminding you to change your daily rhythm has long been delivered to your inbox.
Some choose not to open it.
I have also witnessed others eagerly open the email titled Opportunity.
Yet some open it, decide to accept it, and then—lacking courage—close the road ahead of them.
How many things in life do we avoid facing, even though we know they will inevitably come?
Unpaid parking tickets and fines.
Things done against one’s conscience.
What must be faced will eventually be faced. That moment will come.
If fasting is destined to become one of the most significant awakenings of your life, and you are still not ready to accept it, the problem is this: it is already standing at your door, knocking.
Will you open the door, or not?
One day, we will all grow old.
One day, we will all depart.
Fasting has the ability to correct the state of aging and the way time acts upon us.
It also has the capacity to delay the moment of departure.
Yet honestly, we have no right to refuse opening the door when it knocks.
By spreading one day’s three meals across three days, a single day can be extended into three.
The essence of fasting lies in this principle of distribution:
diluting the wear and tear of life, allowing its value to be fully expressed.
When strength permits, stop inflicting further damage on the body and allow its true capacity to be released.
Through our respect, the body gains the chance to gradually correct the accumulated mistakes of the past.
“There it comes” is not the same as “it will come eventually.”
“It has arrived” is not the same as “it will still come.”
Perhaps there is still time. Perhaps there is not.
In the end, accepting or rejecting an opportunity is each person’s right.
Not everyone has the capacity to embrace fasting as a daily practice.
Not everyone is able to cooperate with their own body.
And not everyone is suited for fasting.
Some bodies can no longer withstand its cleansing process.
Perhaps they have already reached a stage beyond reversal—
whether that decision comes from the body itself, or from the mind.
